Happy Easter

It's hard to believe it's already mid-April and Easter time. We had good weather today.

I converted this 1958 Raleigh Sports from a 48-24 gearing to 48-22. The FW four-speed lacks the top gear that the S5 five-speed has. I wanted just a little more top-end from this, and I think 48-22 gives a good balance of climbing ability, with a nice direct drive and a little more top-end.

One of the things I do while I have the bike on the stand as well is to rub the rim walls with Acetone - this helps de-grease the braking surface. It does make a difference with the brakes, and you need all the braking you can get with original brakes and steel rims.
