Schwinn New World - Out for a Ride

I spent the better part of winter 2018-19 moving to a new home several states north of where I used to live. As part of the move, I gradually transported my collection of bikes over the course of several months. I actually started moving bikes about 6 months before the move, and made several trips by car over the course of those 6 months to move household items and the bikes (two at a time generally).

One of the bikes that moved last summer or fall (I forget which) was the 1947 Schwinn New World 3-speed bike. This bike sat for probably 7-8 months in storage here near my new home.

This past week, we finally had some better, drier weather. I got the New World back on the road, and it performed quite well. It's one of my favorite bikes, and it actually is the only old Schwinn "lightweight" I now own. I sold off the others, but this 1947 New World is a sentimental favorite of mine because it arrived as a barn find from the midwest, and it took me quite awhile to get it all cleaned up and put back on the road.
