Hot Day for a Ride - Raleigh Model 35 Content

We had several days of high heat this week, with temperatures around 95F (35C). There was also plenty of humidity. I took out this beautiful 1947 Raleigh Model 35 for a ride late on one of those hot afternoons. Riding early or late in the day can help limit the heat a bit, and lengthens the shadows so you can ride longer in the share (at least around here where we have plenty of trees). I enjoy riding in the evening, especially when we have lots of daylight in the summer.

Later in the day is also a time to see birds and animals you might not see earlier in the day. This Great Blue Heron is a common, albeit large, bird we have here in New England.
