Hi The Bike Shed. I have a pre-war women's Manton & Smith. It was my mother's bicycle. I am interested in having it restored, or left but repaired as a patina build. Would you be able to direct me to someone that may be willing to take this on? Thank You Todd
With an old American bike like that, I would head over to the Classic and Antique Bicycle Exchange, put up a couple pictures of the project and then ask if anyone is willing to do the work. ( thecabe.com ) - enter the "Forum". Pictures and a description of the sort of work you want done will help. The guys I can think of who might be interested in doing that kind of work on an old, American-made bike usually hang out there.
