The riding season here in New England is starting to come to an end. I usually ride in the evening after work, but now there's just barely enough daylight to do it. I suspect in a couple weeks, I'll be down to weekend rides only. Then will come the changing of the clocks, cold weather, and finally the snow.
Some people enjoy riding in the winter with special set ups on their bikes, but I'm at the point where I don't like having to combat the corrosive effects of salt and road brine. I usually run for exercise during the winter months, though I also have my 1974 Raleigh Grand Prix on a roller in my basement when I want to practice pedaling. I mix the two exercises up in the winter, but there's no substitute for the real thing.
